Portfolio platform for hardware engineering recruitment, with project editing, media uploads, and a searchable talent directory.

Overview

Hardware projects need more than a resume line to show how something was designed and built. Buildplate gives engineering students a place to publish their work and lets recruiters browse portfolios and profiles.

Role and constraints

I co-founded Buildplate and worked as a full-stack developer from June through August 2026.

Process

I implemented authentication, project editing, uploads, and the talent directory. I redesigned onboarding with searchable school and program fields and resumable setup: users could save after entering a name and profile URL, while publishing still required a complete profile.

Result

Built and launched the platform, supporting 83 profiles and 66 published portfolios during my role.
